Committed to great entertainment – and fun!
Mac Entertainments was set up in 2006 by a performer and, for 11 years, brought much joy to older communities in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. Unfortunately, the owner was no longer able to run the business – until one of the acts stepped in.
Towards the end of 2017 Emily Baum decided to take over the responsibility of fulfilling the company’s ongoing commitments and to ensure everyone had their Christmas parties as planned. Joined by Laura Grainger and Kris Cornell, the team was complete and Mac Entertainments became Mack Entertainment.
Acts to inspire and entertain
We believe that older people should enjoy their twilight years, kick up their heels if they want to and most certainly laugh – a lot. The population in the UK is getting older with 18% aged 65 and over – 2.4% are over 85! (taken from the office of national statistics 2016 figures). That’s 11,700,000 people, many of whom are living in a care setting. Entertainment adds fun and interest to the weekly routine – from a nostalgic rendition of songs from the 50s to mind-boggling card tricks or the chance to have a go at belly dancing, a visiting act will brighten up anyone’s day.
We love what we do! There is nothing more satisfying than to get positive feedback and thank you notes and the knowledge that we are making a difference to the lives of older people.
Why not contact us today to find out how we can help you put a smile on lots of faces!
As a parent of a special needs child, Kris is familiar with that much needed outlet known as laughter. Kris has a degree in criminology and a genuine interest in people. She has been lucky enough to have several special older people in her life. Some of them are now gone, but every time Kris auditions an artist or takes a booking she always imagines what they would have liked and what would have made them smile.
Emily grew up in Surrey and loves this part of the world. She studied for a degree in theatre and wanted to pursue a career as a singer or comedian. However, life doesn’t always go to plan and Emily found herself entering a career in financial services. Whilst embracing a mid-life crisis, Emily decided to return to her first love and hopped back on the comedy circuit. Mack Entertainment came along just at the right time.
Laura was born to laugh - and her laugh is incredibly infectious. A local girl and a real people person, Laura brings the team together with her experience of the care entertainment sector and dedication to the artists. She loves what she does and that comes across from the amount of laughing she does in the office. As a mum of twins, one of whom is disabled, Laura is used to juggling the day-to-day.

Laura is a Mum of twins, so she is used to juggling the day to day, and is still often raising money to support the ever growing needs of her son Charlie.
